Provider Services

On this page you can allow or prevent the automatic configuration of your FRITZ!Box. Automatic configuration is not supported by all DSL providers.

Allow automatic configuration by the service provider

If your DSL or Internet telephony provider supports automatic configuration, you should enable this setting. Automatic configuration offers you simple, convenient configuration for your Internet connection and for Internet telephony.

Permit automatic updates

If you enabled automatic configuration by the service provider, you can specify here that the service provider should transfer new firmware to your FRITZ!Box automatically.

Note: Disable this setting if you do not want the firmware to be updated automatically, for instance, because you want to operate the FRITZ!Box using a certain version of the firmware.

Allow automatic configuration via computer programs within the local network

A number of DSL providers make available the service TR-064. With TR-064 the Internet connection and Internet telephony can be configured automatically. With TR-064 the Internet connection and Internet telephony can be configured automatically. A FRITZ!Box with TR-064 can only be accessed from within the local network. This requires a client that is supplied by the DSL provider, e.g. on a CD.

For reasons of security, TR-064 uses a registration at the FRITZ!Box with user name and password. The user name is prescribed by TR-064; the password must correspond to the password for the user interface of the FRITZ!Box:

  • If you use TR-064 and no password has been defined for the FRITZ!Box user interface, you can define it using TR-064.
  • If you have already protected access to the FRITZ!Box user interface with a password, use this password for TR-064 as well.

An encrypted connection will be established over SSL as soon as registration at the FRITZ!Box via TR-064 is successful.

Click the "Apply" button to implement your changes to the settings.
