DECT Settings

The FRITZ!Box can be configured for cordless (DECT) telephony.

  • Select the option "Enable DECT function of the FRITZ!Box".
  • The "PIN" field contains the system PIN of the FRITZ!Box. This PIN is requested during registration of cordless telephones.
Upon delivery, the system PIN of the FRITZ!Box is set to "0000", but this value can be changed.
  • You can reduce the DECT signal power of FRITZ!Box by selecting the "DECT Eco Mode" option. Please note that this option also reduces the range of your cordless telephones.
  • For the greatest possible security against eavesdropping, when the FRITZ!Box is used as a DECT base station the default setting permits only authenticated and encrypted DECT connections between the handsets and the base station.
Select the option "Enable DECT repeater support (insecure)" to make the FRITZ!Box able to handle non-encrypted DECT connections. This is necessary since many commercially available DECT repeaters allow only non-encrypted connections. However, since your calls are protected from eavesdropping only when encryption is used, we recommend using this option only if it absolutely necessary to use a DECT repeater.
  • The "Troubleshooting for handsets that are not compatible with GAP" option can eliminate problems that occur during operation of DECT telephones by other manufacturers. Enable this option and check whether it has remedied the problems.

Click the "Apply" button.
