INFO Display

The FRITZ!Box has five LEDs (light emitting diodes) on its upper panel that light up or flash to indicate various information about the FRITZ!Box. The Quick Guide presents an overview of the information displayed.

Here you can select what additional information should be displayed on the "INFO" LED.

The following displays are preconfigured:

"INFO" LED flashes: when the firmware is being updated and during transmission of the security settings to a FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick.

"INFO" LED lit up: A telephone connection between two Internet telephony subscribers is active; the call is free of charge. This function must be supported by your Internet telephony provider.

The following additional displays can be configured:

"INFO" LED displays rate-related information

  • By default the "INFO" LED is not lit up.
  • Flashing: If you entered rate information in the "Internet / Online Meter / Set Rate" area, the "INFO" LED flashes whenever the specified data volume or free online time has been exhausted.

"INFO" LED lights up for active WLAN
Select this setting if the "INFO" LED should light up whenever the WLAN function is enabled.

"INFO" LED lights up for connection of device via LAN
The "INFO" LED lights up when a device connects to the FRITZ!Box using a LAN cable.

"INFO" LED lights up for connected USB devices
When a device is connected to the USB port of the FRITZ!Box, it takes a moment before the device is ready for operation. When the "INFO" LED stops flashing, this means that the device is ready for operation.

"INFO" LED lights up for Do Not Disturb Enabled
The "INFO" LED lights up when a configured Do Not Disturb setting is active in the FRITZ!Box.

"INFO" LED flashes for call in absence
The "INFO" LED flashes when a call arrived, but was not accepted. The FRITZ!Box stops flashing as soon as one of the connected telephones uses an outside line or connects for a call. For more information on the missed call, see the FRITZ!Box Call List.

indicates new messages on the answering machine, received faxes and calls in absence
The "INFO" LED flashes whenever new messages are on the answering machine, new faxes were saved on the USB memory, or calls were received in absence. The LED stops flashing as soon as all messages have been heard, when all of the faxes saved on a USB memory have been deleted, or when one of the connected telephones uses an outside line or connects for a call.

Note: If all faxes are forwarded via e-mail, or received at a connected fax machine, the "INFO" LED will not flash to signal fax reception.
