Internet Telephone Number

To use Internet telephony you must enter the account information received from your Internet telephony provider here. You can configure up to ten connections for Internet telephony.

Use Internet telephone number

Enable this setting if you want to use Internet telephony with the telephones connected to the FRITZ!Box.

Internet telephony provider

Select your Internet telephony provider from the list. If your Internet telephony provider is not included in the list, select the "other provider" entry.

Note: The number and names of the following input fields vary for the various Internet telephony providers.

  • If your Internet telephony provider is included in the list, enter the account information you received from the provider in the appropriate fields.
  • If your Internet telephony provider is not included in the list and you selected the "other provider entry", the following input fields are at your disposal:
    Internet Telephone Number Enter here the number you received from your Internet telephony carrier.
    User name Enter here the user name for your access to Internet telephony.
    Password Enter here the password for your access to Internet telephony.
    Registrar Enter here the registrar of your Internet telephony provider.
    The registrar usually has the following format:
    <Name of the provider>.com
    Proxy Server Enter here the proxy server of your Internet telephony provider.
    Some Internet telephony providers require an entry for the proxy server. Enter the name of the proxy server here only if your Internet provider expressly requests this information.
    Use Internet telephone number for registration Some Internet telephony providers require this additional parameter for registration with the Internet telephony provider. There is no standard name for this parameter. Its technical acronym is: SIP-URI. Contact your Internet telephony provider to find out whether you require this parameter for registration. Only enable this setting if your Internet telephony provider requires this parameter.
    Relay outgoing emergency calls without prefixes Enable this option if your Internet telephony provider prompts you to do so.
    Relay special rate numbers without prefixes Enable this option if your Internet telephony provider prompts you to do so.
    DTMF transmission DTMF transmission (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) usually finds its optimum configuration when set to "Automatic". Should problems with this setting arise on your line, consult with your Internet Service Provider about possible changes to this setting.
    Suppress outgoing Caller ID (CLIR) Suppression of Caller ID usually finds its optimum configuration with the basic setting "CLIR via display name". Should problems with this setting arise on your line, consult with your Internet Service Provider about possible changes to this setting.
    Adjust Number Format Here you can adjust the number format to the requirements of your Internet Service Provider.
    VoIP provider with North American Number Plan (NANP) Enable this option if you use an American Internet telephony provider.
    Suffix for Internet numbers In some rare cases Internet telephony providers require an unambiguous suffix for their lines. Enter this suffix here if your Internet telephony provider prompts you to do so.
    Provider supports G.726 in accordance with RFC 3551 Enable this option if your Internet telephony provider supports the voice codec G.726 in accordance with RFC 3551. If necessary, contact your Internet telephony provider for more information.
    Provider supports Call-back on busy (CCBS) in accordance with RFC 4235 Enable this option if your Internet telephony provider supports the call-back on busy (CCBS) feature in accordance with RFC 4235. If necessary, contact your Internet telephony provider for more information.

Click the "OK" button to implement your changes to the settings.
