Connection Settings without Account Information Required (in Accordance with RFC 1483 / RFC 2684)

The following section describes the connection settings available when the following settings have already been configured for the Internet connection:

Number range Selected Setting
"Connection" "Internet connection via DSL"
"Operating Mode" "Use one Internet connection for all computers (router)"
"Internet Account Information" "No account information required (in accordance with RFC 1483 / RFC 2684)"

Attention: If you change the settings for Internet access, click the "Apply" button to implement them in the FRITZ!Box. Otherwise all changes will be discarded!

ATM settings: VPI and VCI

The values for the ATM settings are supplied by your DSL provider. Enter the values in the relevant fields:

Encapsulation

The kind of encapsulation and the IP settings are supplied by your DSL provider. Select the relevant kind of encapsulation and enter the IP settings in the appropriate fields.

Bridged
(Routed Bridge Encapsulation)
For this kind of encapsulation it is possible to have the IP settings (IP address) obtained automatically via DHCP. Select this setting if your DSL provider informed you that you receive your IP settings automatically via DHCP. If it also supplied you with a DHCP host name, then enter this name in the "DHCP host name" field. Leave the "DHCP host name" field empty if you did not receive a DHCP host name.
Set the speed of the DSL line automatically

Select this setting if the speed at the DSL line determined by FRITZ!Box corresponds with the speed contracted for your rate with the DSL provider.

Set the speed of the DSL line manually

Select this setting if the following is true: Your DSL provider operates the DSL line at a speed higher than the one contracted for your DSL line. The FRITZ!Box detects the higher speed at the DSL line. However, at the switching center the speed is throttled to the contracted rate. The speed must be entered manually so that FRITZ!Box knows the actual speed and can perform traffic shaping correctly. Enter the throughput rates contracted for your DSL line in the "Upstream" and "Downstream" fields.
