The following section describes the connection settings available when the following settings have already been configured for the Internet connection:
Number range | Selected Setting |
"Connection" | "Internet connection via DSL" |
"Operating Mode" | "Use FRITZ!Box as a DSL modem" |
Attention: If you change the settings for Internet access, click the "Apply" button to implement them in the FRITZ!Box. Otherwise all changes will be discarded!
When FRITZ!Box is configured for operation as a DSL modem, you do not have to enter any Internet account data in FRITZ!Box. In this case the computers connected to the FRITZ!Box establish the Internet connections themselves.
When this filter is enabled, only PPPoE packets are transmitted over DSL. Packets from Windows file and printer sharing are always filtered, even when they are located within a PPPoE packet. Files and printers enabled for sharing in Windows are thus protected against access from the Internet.
Note: If your Internet service can only be reached using a transfer protocol other than PPPoE, this option must be disabled.
In this area you can enter information manually about the ATM settings used on your DSL line.
Attention: Only make changes here if the ATM settings deviate from the preset values and are not recognized automatically. Improper changes to the settings may result in malfunction of the FRITZ!Box Internet connection.
You can make the following settings:
Detect all ATM settings automaticallyWhen this option is enabled, the ATM settings of your DSL line will be detected by the FRITZ!Box automatically.
Define ATM settings manuallyEnable this option if the ATM settings have to be configured manually.
Your DSL provider can tell you which values are required.
